Friends of Gaddings Dam

Why become a Friend of Gaddings Dam?

Since it was first formed in 2001, the Gaddings Dam Preservation Company Limited has been utterly reliant on the support it receives from its Friends.

As a not-for-profit company, all our funds come from public donations. Friends of the Dam pay £10 or £20 a year to support our work, and through this make a direct contribution to the preservation of Gaddings Dam as an important environmental and historical resource for the people of Todmorden and the Upper Calder Valley.

Money received from Friends is used to

  • Pay for the Dam’s insurance through CIS Ltd, and
  • Pay for vital tools, materials and equipment to carry out remedial work.

In return, Friends receive a twice-yearly newsletter keeping them up-to-date with our activities and progress in securing the Dam’s future. We also invite Friends of Gaddings Dam to social events and briefings.
